Envy is a Wasted Emotion :     A man of bad character punishes his own soul.

What is Envy ?

Non Acceptance Of Good in Others

A man of bad character punishes his own soul.

You will never find happiness until you clean the garden of your heart from the poisonous plants of envy, hatred, spite, and resentment.

‘Surely there is in the body a small piece of flesh; if it is good, the whole body is good, and if it is corrupted, the whole body is corrupted, and that is surely the heart’ [Sahih Bukhari]

those who purify their souls will certainly have everlasting happiness. and those who corrupt their souls will certainly be deprived (of happiness). (Quran 91 : 9 – 10 )

Envy is especially directed at those with whom we compare ourselves, such as our friends, relatives and neighbours etc. As Bertrand Russell said, ‘Beggars do not envy millionaires, though of course they will envy other beggars who are more successful

Envy is a response to another person who has success, skills, or qualities that we desire, and involves feeling a lack in comparison to that person.

Envy ek dil ki beemar hai jo aksar logon Mein payee jati hai magar isko sirf aur sirf Quran hi ke zariye roka jsakta hai. Quran ke ilawo iska koi ilaj nahi.

O mankind! There hath come to you a admonition from your Lord and a healing for the (diseases) in your hearts and for those who believe, a Guidance and a Mercy. ( Al Qur’an : 10 : 57 )

... Qur'an that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe: to the unjust it causes nothing but loss after loss. ( Quran 17 : 82 )

…And He will heal the hearts of a believing people. (Quran 9:14)

Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him;[8].those who purify their souls will certainly have everlasting happiness[9].and those who corrupt their souls will certainly be deprived (of happiness)[10]. { Quran : 91 - 8 - 9 - 10 }

Say: "O ye men! Now Truth hath reached you from your Lord! Those who receive guidance, do so for the good of their own souls; those who stray, do so to their own loss ….. ( Al Qur’an : 10 : 108 )

Abdullah ibn Amr (ra) narrated the Prophet (saw) was asked, "Which people are the best? "

He (saws) said, "The best people are those whose tongues are truthful and their hearts are" Makhmun".

They said, "We know the meaning of a truthful tongue, but what is a heart that is Makhmun?"

He (saws) said, "It's a heart that is pious and pure with no sin. This heart has no unfairness, no envy and doesn't hold malice."

(Ibn Majah, graded Saheeh by Al-Albani)

Hadith on Purity: The man who went to Paradise for purifying his heart

Anas ibn Malik reported: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said, “Coming upon you now is a man from the people of Paradise.” A man from the Ansar came whose beard was disheveled by the water of ablution and he was carrying both of his shoes with his left hand. The next day the Prophet repeated the same words, and the man came in the same condition. The third day the Prophet repeated the same again, and the man came in the same condition. When the Prophet stood up to leave, Abdullah ibn Amr followed the man and he said, “I am in a dispute with my father and I have sworn not to enter my home for three days. May I stay with you?” The man said yes.

Abdullah stayed three nights with the man but he never saw him praying at night. Whenever he went to bed, he would remember Allah and rest until he woke up for morning prayer. Abdullah said that he never heard anything but good words from his mouth. When three nights had passed and he did not see anything special about his actions, Abdullah asked him, “O servant of Allah, I have not been in dispute with my father nor have I cut relations with him. I heard the Prophet say three times that a man from the people of Paradise was coming to us and then you came. I thought I should stay with you to see what you are doing that I should follow, but I did not see you do anything special. Why did the Prophet speak highly of you?” The man said, “I am as you have seen.” When Abdullah was about to leave, the man said,

“I am as you have seen, except that I do not find dishonesty in my soul towards the Muslims and I do not envy anyone because of the good that Allah has given them.”

Abdullah said, “This is what you have achieved and it is something we have not accomplished.”
