Reasons Behind Calamities :

1)    It is a Part of Life

Allah swt said in the Qur’an :

Who has created death and life, that he may Test you which of you is best in deed ….. (Qur’an 67 : 2)

2)    "If Allah wants to do good to somebody, He afflicts him with Trials."

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said,

"If Allah wants to do good to somebody, He afflicts him with Trials."

(Bukhari Volume 7, Book 70, Number 548)

3)    When Allah wills Good for His Slave...

(Early Punishment)

“When Allah wills good for His slave, He hastens the punishment for him in this world, and when Allah wills ill for His slave, he withholds the punishment for his sins from him until he comes with all his sins on the Day of Resurrection.”

[Reported by at-Tirmidhi (2396) and Shaykh al-Albaani (rahimahullaah) classified it as saheeh (authentic) in Saheeh at-Tirmidhi] Sahih bukhari Volume 7, Book 70, Number 575: Narrated Anas bin Malik:

4)    To Elevate Ranks

The Prophet ( sas ) said:

“Nothing befalls a believer, a (prick of a) thorn or more than that, but Allah will raise him one degree in status thereby, or erase a bad deed.”

Narrated by al-Bukhaari (5641) and Muslim (2573).

The Greatest Reward Comes With The Greatest Trial

The Prophet Muhammad ( sas ) said:

“The greatest reward comes with the greatest Trial . When Allaah loves a People , He Tests them . Whoever accepts that Wins His pleasure , but whoever is discontent with that Earns His wrath .”

[Reported by at-Tirmidhi (2396) and ibn Maajah (4031). Shaykh al-Albaani (rahimahullaah) considered it Hasan]

5)    Afflictions Are a Form of Blessing To Return The Right Way

And indeed We will make them taste of the Penalty of this (life) prior to the supreme Penalty, in order that they may (repent and) return.  (Qur’an 32 : 21)

Calamities have appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of the people have earned, so that He (Allah) makes them taste some of what they did, in order that they may return (to the right way).  (Qur’an 30 : 41)

I know that allah will reapir everything in impressive way.

6)    To Realise Our Wrong Doings

Allah swt said in the Quran :

Whatever misfortune happens to you , is because of the things your hands have wrought , and for many (A sin) he grants forgiveness.   (Quran 42 : 30)

7)    Expiation of Some of Sins

Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 70, Number 545 Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri and Abu Huraira: The Prophet said,

"No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, But that Allah expiates some of his sins for that."

37. Abu Sa`id and Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Never a believer is stricken with a discomfort, an illness, an anxiety, a grief or mental worry or even the pricking of a thorn but Allah will expiate his sins on account of his patience". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Prophet Muhammad (peace & blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “There is no Muslim who is stricken with a calamity and says what Allah has enjoined – ‘Verily to Allah we belong and unto Him is our return. O Allah, reward me for my affliction and compensate me with something better’ – but Allah will compensate him with something better.” (Sahih Muslim 918)

Dim & Distant

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

“There is no Muslim who is afflicted by a calamity & when he remembers it, even if it was in the dim & distant past, he says Inna Lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji’oon (verily to Allah we belong & unto Him is our return), but Allah will give him a reward like ...that of the day when it befell him.”

[Ahmad & Ibn Majaah, from al-Bidaayah wa’l-Nihaayah ( 8/221 )]

8)    This is a Decree of Allah

…Allah has already set a destiny for everything. (Quran 65:3)

Verily, We have created all things with Qadar (Divine Preordainments of all things before their creation, as written in the Book of Decrees Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz). (Qur’an 54 : 49)

No calamity befalls on the earth or in yourselves but is inscribed in the Book of Decrees (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz), before We bring it into existence. Verily, that is easy for Allâh. (Quran 57 : 22)

No calamity befalls, but by the Leave [i.e. Decision and Qadar (Divine Preordainments)] of Allâh, and whosoever believes in Allâh, He guides his heart [to the true Faith with certainty, i.e. What has befallen him was already written for him by Allâh From the Qadar (Divine Preordainments)], And Allâh is the All-Knower of everything. (Quran 64 : 11)

Say: "Nothing shall ever happen to us except what Allâh has ordained for us. He is our Maulâ (Lord, Helper and Protector)." And in Allâh let the believers put their trust. (Quran 9 : 51)

9)   Calamities. its a HIDDEN blessing that takes us to Jannah

"Those will be rewarded with the highest place [in Paradise] because of their patience.." (Quran-25:75)

Is ayat se malom padha ke sabar karne waloon ko allah swt jannat mein alaa muqam dega.

sabar kab ata hai?. calamities mein. to ye calamities jannat ko le jane ka ek zariye hai. is hisaab se calamities kharaab nahi balke allah ke taraf se blessing hai.

Don't be sad on calamities. Through this calamities its a big chance to win the pleasure of Allah swt and achieve the highest rank in Jannah.

it is difficult to be patient. but to waste the reward for patience is Worse.

Thank you Allah for the trials that make me closer to you.

10)    More Test more chance to closer to Allah

Every test a chance to become closer to Allah. And More Test more chance to closer to Allah

Most Afflicted

The best Feeling is that when you realize that a trial is making you close to Allah
